What's new

Changes to Halftonik, newest first. Every shop gets them straight away.

  • Ask a question in Help

Open the Help menu at the top, type a question, and get a short answer drawn only from our own help guides and lessons, with links to read more and Show me where there's a walkthrough. Each answer counts as one AI use. When AI help is off or this month's uses are gone, you still get the matching help articles.

  • Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay and Klarna

Settings, Payments now says how customers can pay: card, Apple Pay and Google Pay straight away, and Afterpay or Klarna if you turn them on in your own Stripe payment methods (there's a link). We add no fee on top of Stripe's. Payments that settle later are recorded once Stripe says they're paid, and if one doesn't go through, the invoice or store order stays unpaid and your activity says so.

  • Discount codes for club stores and the order page

Make codes for a percentage or an amount off, inc GST, in Club stores, Discount codes. Choose any store, one store or your order page, and add dates, a minimum order and how many times it can be used. Members type the code at checkout and the price is worked out again on our side. On the order page the code goes on the draft quote. A used code is kept: archive it to stop it working.

  • Fundraising on club and school stores

Add a fundraising amount to each garment for the club, ex GST, or a different amount on one garment. Members see how much goes to the club and a progress bar towards the target. The store shows what's been raised, and when it closes you can print a fundraising statement for the club and mark it paid. GST goes on the fundraising part like the rest of the price unless you say it's GST-free.

  • Settings in the menu, and team invites by email

Settings now has its own place in the menu on the left, opening Shop details, prices, payments and the rest as tabs. Team, Security and the activity log stay where they were. When you invite someone, we email them a button to join your shop, and Copy link is still there if you'd rather send it yourself. Invites waiting to join can be emailed again.

  • Designers, and who sees which jobs

The artist role is now called Designer. Under each person on the Team page, See all jobs decides whether they see every job or only the jobs they're on, everywhere in the app, even from a link. It's on for owners, admins, sales and production, and off for designers to start, so a freelancer only sees their own work. Owners, admins and sales can switch it, along with Can send proofs.

  • A Today for each role

Designers' Today shows proofs to make, proofs waiting on customers, changes asked for and artwork due. Production's shows what's on the floor, what's next up and what's due soon. Neither shows any money. The menu, the New button, search and Learn only show what each role uses.

  • A designer for each customer

Set Their designer on a customer, and their new quotes and jobs go to that designer by themselves, including ones from the portal, the order page, reorders and quotes drafted from an email. You can still change it on any job. Each Who's on it list now only has the people who do that job, plus owners and admins.

  • Proofs checked before they go out, and approvers from the customer's contacts

Designers now upload a proof and press Ready for checking. The sales rep on the job (or an owner or admin) sees it on Today, then sends it back with a note or sends it to the customer. Give a trusted designer Can send proofs to customers in Team to skip the check. When you send, tick who approves from the customer's contacts, or add someone new, and choose any one of them or all of them. Each gets their own link by email, the job shows who has approved, and reminders go only to those still to. The job, its card and Today show where each proof is.

  • Bigger proofs, PDFs page by page, and print files

The proof now sits big at the top of the job, with full screen, Download and Open full size, and older versions underneath. PDFs and Illustrator files show page by page. On a phone, customers see the whole proof fitted to the screen and can pinch to zoom in full screen, pins included. Mark separations, stitch files and DTF sheets as print files with ink or thread notes: the job sheet now shows each decoration with its print files and pictures, the approved proof and the instructions, and work sent out carries the instructions, decoration details, sizes and the files to download. Uploads that don't go through now say why.

  • Customers hear from you at every step

New shops start with customer emails switched on: their proof is ready, their order is ready, their invoice is here, and thanks for approving (Starter starts with the first three). They're shown in set-up so you can switch any off, and Today says when one goes out. If an automation already emailed the customer, Email customer tells you before you send it again.

  • Clearer email sending

After you send an email the pop-up closes and a short Sent note shows by the button. Messages now has Sending for emails on their way, and Waiting only for ones written before email was set up. When an email doesn't go, it says why in plain words, such as email being paused while the account is set up. A quote email now always carries the Quote valid until date you just set.

  • No A$0 surprises on quotes

A garment with no blank cost now shows No blank cost yet instead of a 100% margin, with a warning, and Email customer warns you about any garment or decoration still at A$0 before you send.

  • AI quotes pick from your catalogue

A quote drafted from a customer's email now picks the closest garment in your catalogue, like 5101 Supply Hood for "40 black hoodies", with the colour they asked for and its real cost by size. Embroidery with no stitch count starts at your smallest stitch band and says so in the questions, so nothing is left at A$0. It only asks about the garment when it's truly unsure.

  • No deposit needed for your regulars

Tick No deposit needed on a customer you trust. Their jobs show No deposit needed, their blanks start ticked on Purchasing, and they aren't asked for a deposit when they approve online. New customers keep your deposit.

  • Suppliers answer from a link

Purchase and work order emails now carry a link for the supplier. They accept the order, say when it's sent with tracking, give dates for anything back-ordered, and message you, with no sign-in. Updates show on the order, on Today and on the job's card, like Blanks back-ordered till 4 Nov, and late deliveries are flagged. Set an expected date on any line yourself, print an unpacking sheet with no prices, and work orders now carry the approved proof.

  • One clean look everywhere

The new look now runs through every page, not just the app: sign-in, plan and billing, and the pages your customers and suppliers see, like quote links, the portal, club stores, presentations and your order page. Those stay light, with your shop's name at the top. Quotes, invoices, job sheets and the other PDFs use the same type and colours.

  • Back buttons, and Production instead of Printing

Every record page now has a back button that goes to the page you came from, or to its list. The built-in board stage Printing is now called Production (unless you'd renamed it), and the job board fits better on smaller screens.

  • Hear about it straight away

A bell at the top shows what's new, with a count: quotes approved or changes asked for, proofs approved or changes asked, jobs given to you, payments in, customer replies and new web, store and portal orders. A short note pops up as it happens, without refreshing. Designers get proofs and their own jobs, sales get quotes and replies, accounts get payments, and owners and admins get everything. Mark them read one at a time or all at once, or see them all on the Notifications page.

  • Job cards follow the job

Once work starts, a job's card shows its stage (In production, Finishing, Ready to go, Sent, Done, or your own stage names) instead of Ready to print, plus anything still open, like work out with another shop, tasks left or not paid. The job page, list and quick look show the same.

  • Invoicing you can't miss

Press Invoice on any approved job or its quick look, or make a deposit invoice before work starts and a progress invoice along the way: the final invoice takes them off. Every job shows Not invoiced, Invoiced unpaid, Part paid or Paid. Invoices opens on To invoice, Today lists jobs still to invoice, and moving a job to Done asks first if it isn't invoiced or paid. Invoices make themselves when a job reaches Ready to go; change that in Settings, Payments. Each invoice shows its next steps: send it, record a payment, or let the customer pay by card.

  • A new look for the website and help centre

The website has a new look, with a walkthrough of one job from the first email to the invoice, and a side-by-side view of every feature on each plan. Pictures and clips in the help centre now show the app as it looks today.

  • Proof terms, accounts emails and a customer's artwork

Add your own proof terms in Shop details: customers tick that they agree before approving, and what they agreed to is kept. Give a customer an accounts email and their invoices and reminders go there. Each customer's page now shows their logos, artwork and proofs from every job.

  • Learn the app, a lesson at a time

Open Learn in the menu for five short courses, from your first day to your books. Each lesson has a Show me that takes you to the real screen and walks you through it, and lessons tick themselves off as your shop does each thing. The help button at the top of every page now walks you through that page too. The help centre has courses, guides and integrations, with search.

  • Let support look, with your OK

Stuck on something? An owner can now let our support team see the shop for 24 hours from Settings, Security, read only and never card or bank details. Turn it off any time, and each look shows in your activity log. Anything our team changes for you, like extra trial days or credit, shows there too, and notices like planned maintenance appear at the top of the app.

  • Quote history and templates

Every quote now keeps each version you send, and each one that's approved or declined. Look back at any of them, or put one back. Save any quote as a template, and start new quotes from it with the garments, prints and notes filled in.

  • Markup tables and shared prints

Set markup by what a blank costs and how many are ordered, for everything or a supplier, brand or category. Another colour of the same garment now shares its prints, priced on both together with the set-up once. Choose whether the customer sees sizes, prints and the price each, and use short codes like {contact} in notes and terms.

  • Replies come back to the job

When a customer or supplier replies to an email you sent, the reply now shows on the job, quote or purchase order it's about, with its attachments, and you can answer from there. Choose in Settings, Email whether replies stay in the app (with a copy to your inbox if you like) or go straight to your inbox, and send from your own address if you want to. Zapier can now log emails from your own inbox on a job too.

We've rewritten our terms of service and privacy policy in plain English, and added customer data terms and an acceptable use policy.
